Do I need a website?

Most industries can benefit greatly from a web presence. Check out your competition - if they have a strong online presence, you will probably have a hard time competing with anything less than they have.

Studies show websites have now become the primary method of researching and purchasing products and services world-wide today. A good website increases your credibility and is just as essential as business cards, stationary and other promotional material.

It will help your business build trust with both existing and potential customers.

How much does a website cost?

That's a tricky question. The short answer is "$300 and up". The long answer starts with "What do you want the site to do?" You can get a better idea by talking with a Tuldis Web Solutions sales manager.

Once we have a better understanding of your requirements, we can provide you with an appropriate pricing.

How long does it take?

The duration of a web site project varies according to its complexity. At Tuldis, a basic website is usually completed in 1-2 weeks, a medium website can take 2-4 weeks, and an advanced website or shopping cart site can take 5-8 weeks.

These are just estimates based on past projects. Each project is unique and will have it’s own challenges and schedule.

The most common delay in the creation of a site is waiting for content (text, logo's, photo's) to be sent to us by the client.

I already have a site. Can you help me?

Most certainly we can. Tuldis Web Solutions has taken over many abandoned websites. If your designer or developer can no longer help you, we'd be pleased to show you the Tulids difference.

We can also discuss ways of improving and promoting your website with you. With so many of your competitors online, it is vital that your site is current both in content and design to ensure you don't miss out on clients and sales.

I have a graphic designer already. Can you help with the rest of the website?

Absolutely! Many of our clients have an internal graphic design department. We understand the need for brand congruency, and work well with other departments and vendors to accomplish a shared end vision and goal.

I have just signed up for a website what happens now?

You will need to provide us with a few preliminary materials so we can start on your design. Meanwhile, it is also a good idea to start compiling the materials you will want to put on the site like pictures and text.

What preliminary material do you need?

We will need:

1. Your company logo (if already developed), as well as some examples of your recent advertising material so we can get an idea of how you like to present your business to the public.
2. A list of the pages you would like to have on your website and brief description of their content.
3. Some examples of websites you have seen that you like and a brief explanation of why you like the site. These websites do not have to relate to the industry you are in.
4. If you do not have these materials it is important that you talk to your Tuldis sales manager and explain what you would like and try and provide some visual examples. The more you explain at this stage, the better we will be able to create an effective design.

So what happens next?

We will create concepts of your webpage and send it to you via email. You should take a good look at the concepts and advise us of any changes you would like to make to the design. Review the menu items, colors, page size and text styles because this is what your website will look like - the text and pictures may change but the page will look the same.

What can I change when I get the concept?

You can request any changes you like at this stage. It is important to advise us of any changes you would like at this stage because once the site starts to be coded (which is the next step in production), changes to the page design and navigation may incur extra costs.

I'm happy with the design, what happens next?

Once you have signed off on the concept design, we can start coding your site. Now you can send us the content (text and pictures) for your site.

Do I have to provide Tuldis with all the pictures on my website?

No. While we have a limited stock photograph library, we may not have specific images related to your business, so we ask that you provide us with any images you wish to have on your site.

Tuldis Web Solutions strongly recommends that you use professional photographs on your site.

Do I have to provide Tulids with all of the text on my website?

You have two options when providing text to us:

1.  You may provide your own text in electronic form (text provided in print form may incur a transcription fee).
2.   You may purchase the services of a copywriter. Tuldis offers this as an additional service and can arrange this upon request.

Some important points on providing content
- The sooner you provide all of your text and photos, the sooner we can complete your site.

- When supplying text to us there are some important things to remember: We do not proof your copy and we take no responsibility for the spelling, grammar and accuracy of text you provide. We will copy and paste the text directly from the file you provide. If you provide us with text which you later decide to change, we may charge for these changes, so please ensure that you send copy that is properly edited and up-to-date.

- Be sure to provide us with a brief description of your website and a list of keywords relating to your business to add to the meta-tags of your website.

- If you provide us with images you have downloaded from someone else's website please note that you risk breaching copyright and that Tuldis Web Solutions cedes responsibility for copyright to you.

How do I get traffic to my site?

There are many ways to generate traffic to your site. The most important realization to make is to understand that this is an ongoing process. There is no magic pill, and anyone who offers you one is only peddling disappointment.

Start with the basics of keyword research, writing articles, and submitting press releases. Tuldis can set up some pay-per-click campaigns, banner ads, link exchanges, affiliate programs and paid submissions as well.

What about Search Engines?

Getting listed in Search Engines is important to generating traffic. There is absolutely no need to submit your site to them though - if built correctly, they'll find you, so make sure that other sites are linking to you.

Getting to the top of search results is a very time-consuming and expensive process with all the competition these days. We recommend starting with our pay-per-click campaign first to get immediate traffic.
